Another surfing year has come and gone.

It is a fact that 2013 is well established now, even though most of us will be writing down 2012 when we get to the “date” part of whatever form we are looking at it. It is just the curse of the New Year.

Nonetheless, we all are looking forward to grabbing our surf gear and hitting the surf spots in 2013. Yet, the turning of the New Year also means moments of reflection and remembrance.

When it comes to those who follow the professional surfing circuit, the folks over at the Surfing Magazine put together an excellent “flip book” featuring astounding photographing from the 2012 Vans Triple Crown of Surfing. It is quite a visual piece of surfing history (as it relates to 2013) and may be bring a tear to your eye.

Not only is it nostalgic but there also are quite a few awe-inspiring photos of some excellent beachwear, which was featured at the Triple Crown.

Running from Nov. 12 to Dec. 14, the Vans Triple Crown always is a turbulent way to end the year. Usually all those surfing pros on the ASP tour are fighting hard to score some extra points either to: A) Snag a spot on the Top 34 for the following year, or B) Snag a win, including the ASP World Title crown.

It is always exciting and this year was no different. With that said, we would like to give a shout out to those who snagged top honors at this event.

First and foremost, Sepastian Zietz of Hawaii took the win in the first event, The Reef Hawaii Pro and ultimately the title of the 2012 Vans Triple Crown.

For the Vans World Cup of Surfing, Adam Melling of Australia took the win which secured his place in the Top 34 for 2013.

The Billabong Pipe Masters was snagged by another Aussie by the name of Joel Parkinson. This victory also claimed him his first ASP World Title, which we are all proud of.

Congratulations to these guys and good luck to all the surfers hitting the circuit in 2013.
